Lee Mace at the Ozark Opry gave Clay Campbell an opportunity to to perform on his show

and he has always remembered that. Mr Campbell likes to showcase young talent.

Some of the best young talent this side of the Mississippi perform Friday Nights in June, July & August at the Kentucky Opry’s "Stars of Tomorrow" Shows.  We showcase the incredible talent of 2-time Grand National banjo champ - Aaron Thompson, 4 year old Mason Ramsey known as “Little Hank” who stole the show at a recent Josh Turner concert, 11 year old Carson McKee, the opening act for Charlie Daniels plus many more talented performers.
The Stars of Tomorrow and the Opry Band will feature the music of Taylor Swift, The Jane Deer Girls, Chris Young, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, The Zac Brown Band and Sugarland and even some Classic Country, 50's, Bluegrass Music. Come and watch the Young Stars shine.

Aaron Thompson
 

 

Aaron Thompson is a 16 year old State and National Champion banjo picker from Olive, KY.  A member of Stars of Tomorrow since the age of 10, playing the banjo has provided many unique and fun opportunities such as playing for the Kentucky State House and Senate as well as playing the National Anthem for a UK Lady Wildcats basketball game.  As a member of the Kentucky Opry Band, Aaron has helped open for country music stars such as George Jones, The Oak Ridge Boys and Josh Turner. Aaron attends Eastwood Christian Academy where he is a member of the basketball and fine arts competition teams.  Aaron personally wants to invite you to come out and enjoy a Stars of Tomorrow Show at the Kentucky Opry this summer!

Laney Evans, age 8, is from Calvert City Kentucky. She entered her first talent competition as a kindergartener at Calvert City Elementary School singing Taylor Swift’s “Our Song.”  This will be Laney’s second summer performing with the Stars of Tomorrow. She loves performing with the Kentucky Opry Band.  When she’s not singing and playing the guitar Laney enjoys reading, fishing, and playing with her kitten, Bear.

 
Carson McKee
 

Carson is a 13 year-old fiddler and a 6th grader at Symsonia Elementary in Symsonia, KY.  She started taking Suzuki violin lessons at age 3 and fell in love with bluegrass music after sitting in on some of her granddad and his friends' old-time music sessions.  Recently hired as the newest member of the Kentucky Opry band, Carson loves playing with Clay Campbell and the Kentucky Opry and is excited about her 5th season with the "Stars of Tomorrow"!  Her biggest thrill came this year when a youtube video of her Stars of Tomorrow performance was spotted by a production company in New York, and she was asked to play along with Charlie Daniels at the Sam's Club National Managers Convention in Dallas, TX.  She has also played at the local telethon and joined the band as they opened for the Oak Ridge Boys, Ray Stevens, Roy Clark, George Jones, and Josh Turner.  Carson also sings all three harmony parts, plays the guitar, clogs, plays tennis and basketball, enjoys church activities, and loves hanging out with her family and friends on Kentucky Lake!

Lauren Smethwick
 

Lauren Smethwick, age 16, discovered her love for singing and performing at the age of 8. She truly enjoys entertaining the crowd wherever she performs, but especially at the Kentucky Opry! Lauren has been a part of the Kentucky Opry Stars of Tomorrow show for five years. She enjoys playing guitar, songwriting, and spending times with friends and family. Lauren has won and placed in many talent shows and Idol contests throughout the region. She is a member of the Student Council, Beta Club, and Pep Club at her school. Lauren was the second place winner in the Beginner category in the 2009 and in the Junior division in 2010 KY Opry Talent Search. Lauren would like to thank Clay and Barbie Campbell, the KY Opry Band, and Ky Opry supporters for all of their encouragement.

ashley mitchell
 

15 yr old Ashley Mitchell, who is from the one stoplight town of Greenfield, Tennessee, discovered her passion for music at age six. Ashley enjoys expressing herself through songwriting and is currently learning to play the guitar.  She has competed over the years in several vocal competitions and is always looking for opportunities to entertain an audience. In May of this year Ashley was the first female ever to win the WEIO 100.9 Farmerican Idol talent search held at the Dixie Carter Performing Arts Center in Huntington, TN. Also, in May Ashley was named as the 2011 Over All Winner of the Kentucky Opry Talent Search. Currently, she has made it to the top 20 and is heading into the Radio Round of the WYNN 106.9 West TN Idol out of Jackson, TN. This will be her first year to participate in the Kentucky Opry Stars of Tomorrow show and she looks forward to the experience she will gain and lessons she will learn from the great group of professionals at the Kentucky Opry and the other “Stars” in the show.

 

Clint Fisher
  Clint Fisher, 17 years old from Possum Trot, Kentucky plays lead guitar, piano, banjo, and is a singer/songwriter. He is currently with Heyman Talent in Louisville for acting, and Advantage Modeling in Nashville. Playing good ole country music is his favorite thing to do, and plans on playing music for a career. This is his first year in the "Stars of Tomorrow" show. He is very excited about being in the show, and looking forward to playing nothing but country music.
 
     
Michael Paul Castleberry
  Michael Paul Castleberry is 13 years old clogs each week in the Stars of Tomorrow Show. He is also learning to play drums, guitar and banjo. Michael is a real crowd pleaser. He was the winner in the "Variety" Grand Rivers Talent Contest in 2008. Michael Paul is truly a crowd pleaser!
Jonathan hutcherson
  Jonathan Hutcherson is  13 years old and is from Wilmore, Ky.  His love for music run deeps, and he has been singing since he could talk.  At age 2 1/2 Jonathan was diagnosed with moderate to severe hearing loss in both of his ears and has been wearing hearing aids ever since.  His ability to sing is truly a gift from God, and his hearing loss hasn't slowed him down.  Jonathan has performed in talent shows at school and sung at his church, but the 2012 Ky Opry Talent Search was his first singing competition.  It was a great experience for him, and he was thrilled to be the Beginner Division Winner and "People's Choice" winner.  He has played piano for 6 years and is now learning to play the guitar.  He also enjoys playing basketball for his middle school team.  Jonathan is the oldest of four boys and loves spending time with his family.  He is thrilled and honored to be a part of the Stars of Tomorrow!

Justin Smith
  Justin Smith is a 16 year old and is from Benton Ky. He has been a member of the Paducah Symphony Children’s Choir that performed for the Governors Inauguration on December 11, 2007 for the Governor. He loves country music, and has entered the Kentucky Opry Talent Search and has made it to the top 12 since 2008. Justin is in the Stars of Tomorrow show and will be performing several comedy songs, country songs and many others!.
 
   
Carson Wright
  Carson Wright is a 11 year old Singer & Mandolin player from Tiline, Ky.  He attends school at South Livingston Elementary.  He plays and sings at The Kentucky Lake Cowboy Church.  He is plays basketball .  Carson is the brother of Hunter Wright.

Connor is a 15 year-old fiddler from Symsonia, KY.  He started taking Suzuki violin lessons at age 3 and was bitten by the Bluegrass bug at age 10.  This is Connor's 4th season  with the Stars of Tomorrow, and he appreciates the opportunity to play with the Kentucky Opry band.  He especially found it a great honor to join the band as they opened for stars including Ray Stevens, Roy Clark, George Jones, and Josh Turner.  Connor is an 8th grader at Graves County Middle School, plays quarterback on the football team, enjoys church activities, loves boating and skiing on Kentucky Lake, and looks forward to talking with you this summer at the Kentucky Opry!

SAVAnna gardner
 

 

Savanna Gardner is 15 years old and has been singing at the Kentucky Opry or 4+ years, but was just hired December of 2010 (a very exciting birthday present) Savanna has competed in mny contests in the area including the Ky Opry Talent Search in which she place in the top 3 in the Junior division in 2010. Savanna was chosen to perform in the Gifted and Talented Vocal Showcase where she was featured in a duet. She has been in Quad State and District Choirs the past 4 years. Savanna enjoys playing guitar and banjo, but most of all loves performing at the Ky Opry with Mr. Clay Campbell and the Kentucky Opry Band. Savanna is incredibly greatful for the oppurtunity that has been offered to her and many of the young talent in the area by

Mr and Mrs. Campbell.

 

Hunter Wright
 

17 year Hunter Wright is from Smithland Ky . She plays guitar, sings Lead, Harmony, beautiful alto, and plays the upright bass in a bluegrass group Blue Reigns and electric bass in a group Hearts at War. Hunter lives with her parents and little brother in Smithland, Kentucky. Hunter has a little brother Carson who sings occasionally at the Opry too.

Mason ramsey
 

5 year old Mason Ramsey from Golconda, Illinois is one of new members of the "Starts of Tomorrow" Show. We call him Little Hank as he loves hank Williams Sr. and sings almost all his songs. Mason came in 2nd place in the Beginner Division of the 2011 Kentucky Opry Talent Search.

 
Joey & Tory Fredrick
  12 year old Joseph Fredrick plays Fiddle and sings occasionally in the Stars of Tomorrow Show. Joey is from Murray Kentucky and been playing the fiddle since he was 6 years old. 9 year old Tori Fredrick plays Fiddle along with her big brother.  
Summer Clapp
  Summer Clapp is a 15 year old from the Home of Superman, Metropolis, Illinois. She attends Massac Co. High School and lives in rural Massac Co. From a very young age it was easy to tell that Summer had a love for music. She was always "rockin' to the rhythm of the beat". Summer plays the guitar, drums and piano and loves to sing! Summer has competed for two years in the Kentucky Opry's Talent Search in the Junior Division. This will be Summer's first year in the Stars of Tomorrow Show and she was so thrilled and honored when Mr. Clay invited here to join the Kentucky Opry Family. Summer loves to play basketball, as well as softball, and also likes to hunt and fish. She enjoys spending time with her family and loves hanging out with her friends. Summer is a country girl with heart and was born and raised on a farm. You've heard the saying, "There's no place like home", Summer says, "There's no place like the Kentucky Opry!"

Skylar Cain, Age 9, from the small town of Philpot, KY, has been singing and performing ever since she was old enough to hold a microphone.  She enjoys entertaining people through song and is currently learning to play the fiddle.  Skylar has won and placed in many different talent competitions locally and throughout the region.  Skylar currently is one of the lead vocalists in a local bluegrass/country band called “Sweet T” and when she is not singing she loves playing first base for the championship softball team, the Highland Softball Chicks.  This will be Skylar’s first year performing with the Stars of Tomorrow show and she is very excited and appreciative of the opportunity to learn and grow with all the talented performers at The Kentucky Opry.

Kolt Boddy
 

Kolt is 14 years old and is a Sophomore at Marshall County High School. He has been taking Fiddle Lessons from Mr. Clay Campbell for four years.  Kolt enjoys singing, playing fiddle, learning the guitar and mandolin.  Kolt enjoys playing and singing at Church.  He enjoys the great outdoors and riding horses with his family and his little sister Clara.  He also is enjoying the Stars of Tomorrow Show this season at the Kentucky Opry.

Kolt won the talent show at school playing Ashoken Farewell on his Fiddle.
