RULES

To enter, you must have 3 songs ready to perform, but you will only do 1 of those songs. You choose 3 so that if #1 or #2 don’t work out… we have options. If someone else has chosen your song, or something else does not work out with your first choice, you will need to be ready to sing your 2nd or 3rd choice song.

1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners in the weekly contest will advance to the Semi Finals. There, you will need a different song for each show. Winners in the Grand Finals will need 2 new songs- One Fast and one Slow song- that you haven’t performed previously.

4 weeks of Open Competition   1st, 2nd, & 3rd place winner advance to Semi Final Rounds.

*Money and prizes will be awarded at the Grand finals.

NOTE:  The Music Committee will have the final say on your song lyrics, and age appropriateness of lyrics.

NO TRACKS ALLOWED You must either sing with our band, or accompany yourself.

ORIGINAL MUSIC  Original songs are permitted – but you must accompany yourself. The Opry band will not work on learning original material.

Song List

We have a list of over 500 songs that you can choose from on our website.  Just click on the tab in the navigation bar at the top of our website.  Also, the band knows thousands of older Pop music, Country songs, Bluegrass, Gospel, and older Rock songs.

The band will not learn new songs on rehearsal nights unless it is pre-approved to do so a week prior.

Even if the song is on our song list, it may require more than the regular rehearsal time to work on it.  So it is best to make sure your song choice is one the band can play.  Country music is becoming more and more difficult to play.  A song that may be easy for you to sing may be very difficult for the band to play.

Coaching lessons are available if you need some help getting your songs ready.
