Ann and I are new members of the Kentucky Opry "family" and never had the opportunity to know, or even meet, Buddy. But it is evident from the outpouring of concern from everyone I have heard speak of him that he was truly loved and appreciated. It is a genuine loss not only to family and friends but to society in general when a truly good person passes away. Buddy must have been was such a person. Thank you for making us aware of his passing. Our prayers are with his wife and children and with the Opry family who knew and loved him.

So sorry to hear of Buddy's passing. I haven't had opportunity to make it out to the Opry in quite awhile, but I surely did enjoy Buddy and I will miss him as well. It brings tears to my eyes as I know he was one of the sweetest souls I've ever met.
Please pass our condolences on to his family. I will be there in spirit this Saturday. I will be performing at the Acoustic Coffee & Tea House here in Madisonville and I will mention him and his family and share a song in memory of him.
Ya'll take care and God bless.
Ray & Cindy Ligon
My heart reaches out to you in your loss of a good friend and fellow opry singer/musician. I'm fairly new at the kentucky opry, but I do know how it is to lose those we love and appreciate so much. You all will be in my prayer's, and may God give you comfort and peace at this time. I played in bands for many years and have lost fellow musicians that were just like close family to me, so I do sympathyze and feel your pain. That was before I came to know Jesus as my very own personal Savior and friend. Only He can bring comfort and peace, and thats my prayer for you, his family, and all those at the Kentucky Opry Sincerely,
Sarah Parker

We are saddened to hear of bud's passing away. It is not unexpected, but hurts just the same.
We appreciate you keeping us informed of the events at KY Opry, the programming as well as the updates on those who perform at the Opry.
Our Deepest Sympathy;

I’m so sorry to hear this ..
I also enjoyed hearing Buddy sing. I loved his “Jim Reeves” style. The smoothness of his voice was so refreshing and crisp. He was always very cordial and hospitable to me whenever I came to be part of your fabulous program/show. He will certainly be missed.
May God be with Sheila and family,
Wanette McQuitty

- 7/28/06 This a nice note from a new customer: I attended your show for the first time last Friday night, and what a surprise! I am not sure of what I expected but was not ready for the top shelf and fast moving performance I witnessed It was very well done Mr.Campbell is a ringmaster and showman of the first degree I grumbled about
the price of admission but came to realize that it was money well spent at
the end of the show. And yes, when I am in that area again I will
definitely be cheering you on.
Close to the end of the show Katie Calvert sang Bayou better than I had
ever heard it done. Having lived in New Orleans I have heard that tune done many times but never any better than she did Being with a group I was out the door before I had the chance to tell her how much I liked her
performance I was humming the tune all the next day and my conscious has bothered me ever since Please pass this on to her..
True stage entertainment is not dead You are doing a great job
Keep it fun
- Summertime is a great time for family fun. Many families come down to Kentucky & Barkley Lakes to relax and play together. There is nothing better than making memories together with your kids or your grandkids. What better thing to do is there than spend that quality and quanity time with those you love? Famlies came in by the van load and car load AND SUV LOAD this past weekend to the Kentucky Opry. Their families seem to really like our family. It's a little lonesome around here this week because part of my family is gone. Barbie and her dad Jim are in Minnesota for a week or so. If anyone wants to invite me and the boys over for food... we'll come! Clay
- 7-10-06 Sat, July 8th was our 50 & 60's show and we had a full house! We also had a Classic Car Club that brought their cars from that era, they were very cool! The show was a lot of fun, Scottie was in good humor and Slick Tire & the White Sidewalls put on a great show with lots of energy. Everyone seemed to have a great time. Barbie
- Our Jackson Hewitt sing a like contest brought in a full house of fans and 9 impersonationists. Two for Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, Connie Francis, Hank Williams Sr. Sara Evans, Toby Kieth, Johnny Cash and George Strait. It was a fun night.Emily Pirtle won $1000, Eric Cantrell, won $100, Lauren Wright won $75, and Madison Johnson (only 14 years old) won $50. Clay
- 6-11-06 Connie Smith Show was absolutely fabulous last night , we had almost a sold out house and everyone seemed to get there moneys worth. She still sings as good as always and had a great band, she is very down home and the audience loved her. Barbie
- 5-27-06 Great Show. Great show. Great show. Person after person walked out last night after the show was over, repeating those words. Ike Jonson and the Roadhouse Rangers were our guests last night. They played traditional classic country music that many of our custmers grew up listening to. I asked most people as they were leaving how they like the show or if they remembered any of the some of the songs. Everyone said they remembered most or all of them. Little Jack Little from Marion KY was on fiddle. He played for Porter Wagoner for 14 years, and was here with Ray Price once. We'll have a nice picture of Ike and the boys on photo gallery page. Take a look. Vickie Vaughn is in France. She's gonna be gone 5 weeks this summer We'll all miss her. Clayton is in Colorado. Buddy is still off and can't walk because of severe pain in his legs. He can't stand up with out help. Uncle Jud was in rare form last night too. It was a another great night at the "Opry". Clay

- 5/20/06 Here is a note sent by a very nice lady: Really enjoyed the Opry Sat nite, first time to be there, will come again, your family is so talented and gifted, god gifted I know because they are so versatile. God bless your family and keep up the good work. Your website has been so helpful, have been hearing about the Ky Opry for a while now, on the WLLE station 102.1, I never thought I would get up that far as I live in the far southwest corner of state down in fulton county. It's more than an hour drive for old women to be out on saturday nite, ha! I like the variation of talent you have with all the musicians and the harmony of singers, being a singer myself for all of my life the the different parts I sing also, was good to hear good harmony in the singers as well as the instruments, just a good program . thanks again.
